Voicly - Privacy note
Last updated: July 2026
Voicly is a voice-notes product for Microsoft Store and the Chrome extension only. Core capture and transcription are designed to run on your device so your spoken thoughts are not sold or mined for advertising.
Surfaces
Voicly ships only on Microsoft Store (Windows) and as a Chrome extension. There is no mobile app under this product name.
Audio and transcripts
- Recordings and transcripts you create are stored for the product’s note library under your control.
- Core transcription is designed to run on-device where the platform allows; we do not use your voice content to train third-party advertising models.
- If an optional cloud transcription or sync feature is offered later, it will be opt-in and described here before enablement.
Permissions
- Microphone - used only when you start a recording.
- Chrome extension permissions - limited to what is required for capture, storage, and the features listed in the Chrome Web Store listing.
- Notifications (optional) - local reminders only, if you enable them.
What we do not do
- No sale of your voice notes or transcripts to data brokers.
- No advertising SDKs listening to your recordings.
- No required account for basic local capture where the app supports offline use.
Deletion
Delete individual notes in-app or in the extension at any time. Uninstalling the Microsoft Store app or Chrome extension removes on-device data. Contact us to close any hosted account if cloud sync is enabled.
Changes
If this notice changes in a material way, we will update the date on this page. We will not weaken the core privacy promises without a clear, dated revision.
