Speedly - Privacy note
最近更新: July 2026
Speedly processes your location on your device to warn you about speed cameras. Your journeys are not uploaded, and the camera database works fully offline.
Location
- GPS speed, position, and heading are processed on your device to match against the camera database. On Android, a foreground service keeps alerts running when the screen is off.
- Journeys, saved locations, and settings are stored in on-device storage only.
- The UK camera database is downloaded once and cached for offline use.
Optional online lookups
If you enable online place features, your momentary coordinates are sent to our server proxies to resolve speed limits or place names, then discarded. You can turn this off in settings; core camera alerts work without it. Map tiles load directly from the map provider (CARTO, OpenFreeMap, or Esri).
Accounts
Sign-in (Google or X) is optional and stores only your email and display name. Journeys are not synced to any account.
What we do not do
- No advertising and no third-party analytics SDKs.
- No location history is uploaded or sold.
- Voice alerts use on-device speech synthesis, not a cloud voice service.
Changes
If this notice changes in a material way, we will update the date on this page. We will not weaken the core privacy promises without a clear, dated revision.
